Mullvad is a small, independent VPN provider from Sweden that has been around for over 10 years.

  • No email necessary for registration
  • Anonymous payments (cash and crypto)
  • No live chat support
  • 14 eyes jurisdiction (Sweden)

Pricing

Mullvad offers a fixed price of 5 EUR/month. The price has not changed since the launch of Mullvad in 2009 and they do not offer any discounts. You can find cheaper options, however you won't be disappointed to see someone else buying the same VPN cheaper than you do! Mullvad offers 30 day money back guarantee.

Privacy

The technology is top notch and Mullvad has been audited by independent external auditors "Cure53" from Germany. The audit did not show any serious issues and you can see the final audit under this link. You must note that Sweden is under EU regulations and is considered to be a 14-eyes country which makes data sharing easier. To combat this, Mullvad offers completely anonymous payments so that they do not hold any of your information that they would otherwise be required to hold under EU regulations.

Features

Mullvad offers many privacy focues features. Interestingly, they offer a kill switch feature that cannot be turned off. Split tunneling is another feature that lets you use both the VPN and your local network at the same time. Mullvad also offers bridge servers which can helpful to bypass firewalls on restrictive networks. Mullvad VPN is compatible with Tor. A drawback though is that not all features are available for all platforms.

Support

Extensive FAQ is available and if that is not enough, Mullvad offers email support. There is however no live chat support, nor a phone number to call to in case you run into issues.

Logging

Mullvad claims to not log any user data and have provided their VPN server configuration.
